Why do we like cooking food on a stick? And then how do you eat it? Do you risk putting it in your mouth and skewering both your cheeks?
Anyway I decided to give this dish a go. Suddenly I cried out for help. What do I do with the pak choi? I decided to treat it like lettuce. It looks a bit limp but was ideal to spoon up the dip.
A nice fresh dish and to avoid splinters I decided to take the chicken off the sticks.

A lovely Top Totty after a Trip to Jerusalem
A Trip to Jerusalem for a Top Totty. Is not quite as it sounds. The Trip to Jerusalem is the oldest inn in England. Found in Nottingham near the castle it has been around since 1189AD.
The beer is a bit younger than that. And who can say no to a pint of Top Totty. Well the Houses of Parliament have. The beer described as "a stunning blonde beer, full-bodied with a voluptuous hop aroma" offended our MPs taste. More fool them.
Ohhhhhh Doner Kebab
"Oh Doner (Kebab)
You made me stand up
You made me sit down Doner (kebab)
Sit down Doner
Sit down
You made me stand up"
This Little tune won't make the charts, but a doner kebab makes the Hate Cuisine food charts. But like the words of the song. Do you sit down to eat them or stand up? Do you use a knife and fork or not? Whatever. Nice comfort food for a night in.

Mixed Grill and Assorted Boats at St Katherines Dock
Looking at assorted boats at St Katherines Dock. From the Royal Wedding Barge, yachts and cruisers to the old London Barges. What one would I have? More importantly what shall I eat? Sitting on the 2nd floor of the Dickens Inn in the middle of the dock starving. If you cannot decide on what meat how about trying the mixed grill. Lovely.
No longer starving

On what we serve
Reading the Daily Express today. Thank you Jennifer Selway for making me laugh and highlighting how stupid we are when it comes to eating. Good food is all about the taste right? OK I guess it must look good but what does it matter what you serve it on.
MasterChef Judge William Sitwell has been very vocal in his opinion. Its got to be a round plate every time. He is so right. How many times have you been to a restaurant and have had your food served on a chunk of wood that that just been found on some shoreline?
How do they clean it afterwards? Perhaps they just burn it.
How do they clean it afterwards? Perhaps they just burn it.
Then again I suppose I would prefer eating off a piece of driftwood to eating off a fast food restaurants table that has just been wiped over with a dirty cloth after first being sprayed with bleach!
Secret Santa Curry
"Lets get each other secret Santa presents" ....... Do you hear that at work? Groan. Its not that I don't mind giving and I certainly like receiving but you can have enough join the dot books and desk top calenders. Don't get me wrong here at Hate Cuisine we never say no to chocolate nipples but the chocolate never tastes that nice.
But this year I drew a curry spice kit. Useful and potentially edible. Well I gave it a go and here are the results.
Not bad, Killed the hunger pains on a Wednesday night. Now for afters. Where are those chocolate nipples?
